Ark Basket Program

Congregation Or Torah has been privileged to participate in the ARK Basket Program for over thirty years. The Ark Basket program matches Or Torah with multiple ARK-vetted Chicagoland families to assist with their monthly grocery expenses. Or Torah members contribute funds and/or deliver gift cards to these families, building beautiful relationships with them. 

Currently, Or Torah is helping four families and we need your help to maintain our current level of support for each family.

We are looking for volunteers to deliver gift cards once (sometimes twice) a year.

Currently, we are supporting these families with monthly gift cards to Jewel and Sarah's Tent for $150-$200. Our goal is to increase the monthly gift to meet the increased cost of groceries. Additionally, twice a year (Rosh Hashana and Pesach) we aim to give each family extra funds to help them purchase food for Chag.

Please consider making a contribution of $75 or more annually for this communal effort. If you would like to contribute more or less, simply change the default amount when clicking the link below.
